In addition, WVPEC collaborates with Virginia Tech and Radford University to provide workshops for school administrators and aspiring superintendents as well as professional development for school personnel and students. The WVPEC was codified in 2000, § 22.1-354.1, and its governing board consists of 34 members that include the superintendents from participating school divisions and 15 legislative members as follows: 11 members of the House of Delegates and four members of the Senate.)
