Explanation
(This amendment eliminates the general fund support for the Motion Picture Opportunity Fund. A companion action adopted by the House in the 2014 Session increases the tax credits available for film and TV production from $5.0 million per biennium to $12.5 million per year. The industry has indicated that tax credits are better incentives for these types of productions. Retained in the Fund are the nongeneral fund revenues generated by a fee attached to film rentals in hotels.)
