Explanation
(This amendment provides $1,000,000 from the general fund the second year and 12 positions to start up the correctional education school at the new prison in Grayson County. A companion amendment to Item 379 provides operating funds and 220 positions for the Department of Corrections to open this facility. Accordingly, the opening of this facility will provide a total of 232 jobs in Grayson County, not including the indirect impact on private sector employment in the area.)
