Explanation
(This amendment restores $972,206 the second year from the general fund for poison control centers, 95 percent of the level of funding provided in the first year. The introduced budget had reduced funding in the second year from $1.5 million to $500,000 from the general fund. In addition, language is eliminated requiring the consolidation of the three poison control centers. A companion amendment in item 11 requires the Joint Commission on Health Care to review and report on the Commonwealth's poison control system by December 15, 2009. It is the intent of the General Assembly that the restoration of this funding shall be properly accounted for in calculating the revised amount of savings from executive management actions contained in Items 301.05 and 4-1.08 during the enrollment of House Bill 1600/Senate Bill 850, as adopted by the 2009 General Assembly.)
