Explanation
(This amendment restores funding and positions to continue operating the Commonwealth Center for Children and Adolescents (CCCA) in Staunton and the adolescent unit at Southwestern Virginia Mental Health Institute. The introduced budget slated the facilities for closure by June 30, 2009 respectively. Companion amendments in Items 315, 320 and 322.05 restore funding for the facilities, remove language transferring $2.1 million from the general fund the second year from the facility to provide patient care in the community and add budget language to develop a plan to understand the needs of the individuals served at these facilities, the capacity of the community to serve them, and the appropriate role of the state in providing treatment services to this population.)
