Explanation
(This amendment restores $4.7 million from the general fund and $7.0 million in federal Medicaid matching funds the second year in payments to nursing homes in fiscal year 2010 to sunset a reduction of 1.39 percent to nursing homes that was enacted in Chapter 879, 2008 Acts of Assembly. Chapter 879 included language that reduced payments to nursing homes by capping inflation to no more than two percent in fiscal year 2010. For ease of administration, language implementing the inflation cap required the Department of Medical Assistance Services to reduce direct and indirect care payment rates by 1.329 percent below the normally calculated rates.)
