Explanation
(This amendment restores $6.5 million to the general fund and $5.8 million in matching federal funds and adds language in the Department of Medical Assistance Services for Medicaid reimbursement for care provided to residents of the Southeastern Virginia Training Center. The introduced budget had reduced Medicaid funding to reflect the closure of SEVTC, and diverted $4.1 million to transfer 120 residents to community care and transfer 55 residents to other training centers. Companion amendments in the Department of Mental Health, Mental Retardation and Substance Abuse Services restore budget language and appropriate nongeneral funds for SEVTC to provide for its continued operation.)
