Explanation
(This amendment provides $50,000 from the general fund the first year and $133,297 the first year and $135,265 the second year from nongeneral funds to provide funding to establish and operate a Putative Father Registry as required by Chapter 825, 2006 Acts of the Assembly. The bill requires any man who desires to be notified of an adoption proceeding regarding a child he may have fathered to participate in the registry. If he fails to do so, he loses his right to object to the adoption. Future operating costs will be partially offset by a $50 filing fee.)
