Explanation
(This amendment provides funding for a five percent rate increase for skilled nursing services provided through two Medicaid home- and community-based waiver programs -- the technology assisted waiver and the AIDS waiver programs. This brings the rate for skilled nursing services up to a level equivalent to that provided for skilled nursing services provided through the Mental Retardation (MR) and Individuals and Family Developmental Disabilities Support (DD) waiver programs. Actions by the 2004 and the 2005 General Assembly provided an additional five percent increase for MR and DD waiver services beginning July 1, 2005, including skilled nursing services provided through those waiver programs. Rates for private-duty and skilled nursing would increase from $30.00 per hour to $31.50 per hour for Registered Nurses (RNs) and from $26.00 per hour to $27.30 per hour for Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) in Northern Virginia. In the rest of the state rates for RNs would increase from $24.70 per hour to $25.94 per hour and rates for LPNs would increase from $21.45 per hour to $22.52 per hour.)
