Language Page 13, after line 37:"Pursuant to the provisions of House Bill 1440, 2006 Session of the General Assembly, $15,000 each year from the general fund and $50,000 the first year and $100,000 the second year in nongeneral funds is appropriated to support the Virginia Sesquicentennial American Civil War Commission. Such funds shall be used for expenses incurred by the members of the commission, to appoint staff as may be deemed necessary to assist the commission perform its duties, and to pay for the services of professional personnel, consultants, advisors, or other services the commission may deem necessary to accomplish the purposes for which it was created."
Explanation(This amendment provides funding for the Virginia Sesquicentennial American Civil War Commission, as proposed in House Bill 1440, 2006 Session of the General Assembly. The purpose of the commission is to prepare for and commemorate the 150th anniversary of Virginia's participation in the American Civil War.)
