Explanation
(This amendment provides $258,542 and four positions the first year and $355,770 and six positions the second year from the general fund, to reconfigure the Public Defender Commission to be an Indigent Defense Commission, overseeing training and standards for all court-appointed counsel for indigents. A companion amendment to Item 32 transfers this amount from the Criminal Fund. These amendments are contingent upon final passage of Senate Bill 330.
