"B.  The Secretaries of Natural Resources and Education shall, in conjunction with the Museum of Natural History and the Science Museum of Virginia, and with input from the public at large, review the feasibility of merging or consolidating the two museums or certain functions thereof, and upon a finding that such merger or consolidation is feasible, shall develop a plan for such merger or consolidation for consideration by the 2004 General Assembly.  The Secretaries of Natural Resources and Education shall submit their report to the Chairmen of the House Committees on Agriculture, Chesapeake, and Natural Resources, Education, and Appropriations, and the Senate Committees on Agriculture, Conservation, and Natural Resources, Education and Health, and Finance no later than November 1, 2003."

Explanation
(This amendment restores funding to the Virginia Museum of Natural History under the Secretary of Natural Resources. The amendment also requires a feasibility review of the potential to merge the Virginia Museum of Natural History with the Science Museum of Virginia. A companion amendment to Item 262.10 removes language and funding that would have transferred the Virginia Museum of Natural History to the Science Museum of Virginia.)
