Page 323, line 5, strike "shall" and insert "may".
Page 323, line 6, strike "will" and insert "may".
Page 323, line 9, after "authorization." insert:
"Such preferred drug list program shall generate savings as determined by the Department that are net of any administrative expenses to implement and administer the program of not less than $9,000,000 general fund in state fiscal year 2004 and not less than $18,000,000 general fund in each fiscal year thereafter.  The final design of the program, including all operational components, must be completed not later than May 1, 2003."

Explanation
(This amendment allows the Department of Medical Assistance Services more options in working with the pharmaceutical industry and other interested parties to achieve preferred drug list savings. In addition, it sets a minimum general fund savings limit for each fiscal year and establishes a deadline for the final design of the program.)
