Explanation
(This amendment restores funding for the Human Rights Council. A companion amendment removes funds that were transferred to the Office of the Attorney General in the introduced budget. It is the intent of the General Assembly that the Human Rights Council not be abolished.)

Notwithstanding Title 2.2, Chapter 26, Article 12, and Chapter 39; or Title 15.2, Chapter 16, § 15.2-1604, Code of Virginia, the Human Rights Council is hereby abolished, effective July 1, 2003. The powers and duties heretofore exercised by such agency shall hereafter be vested in the Office of the Attorney General.
