Page 327, after line 3, insert:
"UUU. The Department of Medical Assistance Services shall amend the Family Access to Medical Insurance Security Plan and related regulations to include coverage of an additional 26 weeks of intensive in-home services, effective July 1, 2003.  The Office of Comprehensive Services for At-Risk Youth and Families shall transfer $100,000 in general fund dollars to the Department in order to fund the expanded services."

Explanation
(This amendment provides additional FAMIS coverage of intensive in-home services for children with serious emotional disturbances. Currently, if a child continues to need services beyond 26 weeks, the child must be placed in more expensive residential treatment facilities funded through the Comprehensive Services for At-Risk Youth and Families program. Expanded coverage of intensive in-home services through Medicaid will enable the child to be served at home in a more appropriate, less costly setting. General funds from the Comprehensive Services for At-Risk Youth and Families program would be used as match for federal funds.)
