Page 9, after line 19, insert:
"I.  The clerk of the Senate, the clerk of the House of Delegates, and director of the Division of Legislative Automated Systems shall study whether it is cost effective to continue separately funding information technology staffing and support in each House of the General Assembly, or whether such services could be more cost effectively provided by the Division of Legislative Automated Systems.  Such a study shall include an estimation of the annual savings from consolidating these activities into the Division of Legislative Automated Systems.  The findings of such study shall be reported to the Chairmen of the House Appropriations and Senate Finance Committees no later than July 1, 2003."


Explanation
(This amendment directs the clerks of the House and Senate, in conjunction with the Division of Legislative Automated Systems, to study the most cost effective method of providing information technology staffing and support.)
