Explanation
(This amendment adjusts the fiscal year 2004 revenue estimate upward by $682.0 million to reflect a one cent increase in the sales and use tax for public education, pursuant to House Bill 2433. Companion amendments in items 147 and 148 distribute one-half of the amount generated directly to local school divisions for public education and the other half for raising teacher salaries to the national average.)
