Explanation
(This amendment provides $3.1 million of additional general fund support to develop a statewide water supply planning initiative and to produce refined ground water flow models. There is an increasing demand for ground water while ground water levels are in decline. Existing ground water models do not include the most up-to-date scientific knowledge and understanding. The amendment reflects the recommendation of the State Water Commission.
