"I.  It is the intent of the General Assembly that the client populations served through the Education for Independence programs, previously funded under the Gender Equity set-aside of the 1990 Carl D. Perkins Vocational Education and Applied Technology Act, continue to receive services in the first year from the Temporary Assistance to Needy Familities (TANF) block grant or other available federal funds, consistent with federal law."


Explanation
(This amendment provides funding from the federal Temporary Assistance to Needy Familities (TANF) block grant to provide vocational education, preparation and support services for single parents and single pregnant women who participate in programs which were previously supported through the Education for Independence programs.)
