(This amendment adjusts the deposit to the Water Quality Improvement Fund (WQIF) based on an error in the original calculation; appropriates interest earned on the fund, which is estimated at $2,700,000; removes language that provided for the WQIF to be used for activities that are not authorized by law; restates the intent of the General Assembly as to the use of the WQIF, as established in the Virginia Water Quality Improvement Act of 1997; and deletes 29 positions that were to be funded from the WQIF. The amendment removes language that reserves funds from prior year deposits, which were authorized for the Blue Plains Wastewater Treatment Facility. These funds will now be available for award at the discretion of the Director.)
