Explanation
(This amendment provides $20,000,000 in general fund appropriations for the new intercity passenger rail service from Southwest and Central Virginia to Richmond and Northern Virginia. The Trans Dominion Express would serve numerous cities and towns, including Bristol, Roanoke, Lynchburg, and Charlottesville, as well as 23 colleges and universities. The service would complement current Amtrak service by creating a passenger rail loop in Virginia.)
