Page 351, strike lines 17 through 23, and insert:
"2.  Out of this appropriation,".
Page 352, line 32, strike "$5,000,000 the first year and $5,000,000 the second", and insert:
"$11,950,000 the first year and $11,950,000 the second".
Page 352, after line 37, insert:
"H.  Out of the amounts for this Item, $800,000 the first year and $800,000 the second year shall be designated for "paratransit" services for the elderly and disabled."


Explanation
(This amendment ensures that funds not otherwise designated would flow through the mass transit assistance formula. Out of the additional $14.7 million each year from the general fund, $6,950,000 would flow through the mass transit formula and $6,950,000 would be added to the Public Transit Capital Fund. In addition, this amendment designates $800,000 each year from the general fund for "paratransit" services for the elderly and disabled. The introduced budget eliminated oil overcharge funds that are no longer available for these services.)
