Out of this appropriation, $5,782,800 the first year from the general fund and $6,217,200 from nongeneral funds and $5,778,000 the second year from the general fund and $6,222,000 from nongeneral funds is provided to increase the personal needs allowance of Medicaid recipients being cared for in skilled nursing facilities from $30 to $100 per month."
Accompanying Budget  “The Department of Medical Assistance Services shall develop a mechanism for automatic future adjustments in the personal care reimbursement rate.  The Department shall submit a report outlining the proposed mechanism and the estimated fiscal impact to the Governor, the Chairmen of the Senate Finance Committee, the House Appropriations Committee, and the Joint Commission on Health Care prior to November 1, 2000.”

(This amendment provides additional funding to increase the personal care needs allowance to Medicaid recipients who reside in skill nursing facilities.)
