Accompanying Budget “Out of this appropriation, $130,000 (GF) is provided in each year of the biennium for the Board of Nursing to collect, store and make available to interested parties workforce data from registered nurses, licensed practical nurses and certified nurse aides.”
Explanation
(This amendment provides funding and language for the Board of Nursing to waive the cost of licensure renewal fees for certified nurse aides. Certified nurse aides are experiencing increased licensure renewal fees to cover the costs associated with investigations and adjudication of disciplinary cases under the Administrative Process Act. Recent increases in renewal fees have created a hardship on certified nurse aides due to the low wages these aides receive.)
