"G.  Through the dedication of tobacco taxes paid on cigarettes in Virginia (approximately $15,000,000 per year, or $6,000,000 per one cent of tax), funds shall be provided annually to direct a statewide, comprehensive tobacco use prevention and control program for all Virginians to reduce the burden of tobacco-related disease in the Commonwealth honoring the intent of the tobacco settlement.  Priority funding will be given to those projects that encourage collaborative partnerships with entities providing successful program outcomes and other services that reduce tobacco use and ease the burden of tobacco-related diseases."


Explanation
(This amendment dedicates cigarette taxes for prevention and control of tobacco use, with the intent to distribute funding to the following:Community Programs to Reduce Tobacco Use: 23%Community Programs to Reduce Burden of Tobacco-Related Diseases: 12%Counter Marketing: 15%Cessation Programs: 32%Surveillance and Evaluation: 12%Administration and Management: 6%.)
