"G.  Out of this appropriation, created through the filing of a suit by the Commonwealth of Virginia to recover past Medicaid expenditures attributed to tobacco-related disease, $24,000,000 the first year and  
$24,000,000 the second year
shall be provided to direct a statewide, comprehensive tobacco use prevention and control program for all Virginians to reduce the burden of tobacco-related disease in the Commonwealth honoring the intent of the tobacco settlement.  Priority funding will be given to those projects that encourage collaborative partnerships with entities providing successful program outcomes and other services that reduce tobacco use and ease the burden of tobacco-related diseases."


Explanation
(This amendment provides funds from the tobacco settlements for prevention and control of tobacco use, with the intent to distribute funding to the following:Community Programs to Reduce Tobacco Use: $5,564,000Community Programs to Reduce Tobacco-Related Diseases: $2,895,000Counter Marketing: $3,647,000Cessation Programs: $7,594,000Surveillance and Evaluation: $2,800,000Administration and Management: $1,500,000.)
