Explanation
(This amendment provides funding and two full-time positions to the Virginia Department of Health to help improve compliance with Virginia Cancer Registry reporting requirements, pursuant to legislation which has been introduced in both the House and Senate to give the Virginia Department of Health the authority to perform on-site data collection of the records of patients having malignant tumors or cancers at those hospitals, clinics, independent pathology laboratories and physician offices who are required to report information to the Virginia Cancer Registry. This is a recommendation of the Joint Commission on Health Care.)
