"3.  Out of the amounts for Governor's School Payments, the Board of Education shall provide state assistance for the state share of the incremental cost of a second summer residential Governor's School for the Visual and Performing Arts to be based on the greater of the composite index or 50 percent.  The Board of Education shall use the established process for requesting proposals for summer residential Governor's Schools to determine the location of the School. Participating school divisions must certify that no tuition is assessed students for participation in this program if they are enrolled in a public school."

Explanation
(This amendment would provide funding for the state share of costs for a second summer residential Governor's School for the Visual and Performing Arts. The current School is receiving 100 percent more applications than any of the other summer residential Governor's School programs. The school would serve 200 students beginning in the summer of 2001.)
