Explanation
(This amendment provides funding for the incremental state cost of providing a school nurse in every elementary, middle, and secondary school. The total state cost to meet this goal would be $31.7 million annually. However, funding currently provided by the state for school nurses, in the Standards of Quality Basic Aid Payments ($11.8 million annually) and through the School Health Incentive Payments ($1.7 million annually) would be used to help meet this goal. Therefore, the amount of funding provided in the proposed amendment is the incremental state cost.)
