Explanation
(This amendment transfers funding for the psychiatrist recruitment and retention program from the Department of Mental Health, Mental Retardation and Substance Abuse Services to the physician scholarship and loan repayment program within the Department of Health's budget. Resources would be combined from several physician scholarship and loan programs to provide a more flexible approach to recruiting and retaining physicians, including psychiatrists, and medical students to medically underserved areas in Virginia.)
