Explanation
(This amendment provides increased funding needed to enroll an additional 27,258 children in the Children’s Medical Security Insurance Plan (CMSIP), or an alternative plan as proposed in Senate Bill 550 / House Bill 1489. The additional number of children represent the difference between the 31,500 funded in the introduced budget and 58,758 children estimated by the Department of Medical Assistance Services to be enrolled by July 1, 2001. A companion amendment transfers the funds from the Medicaid program in Item 319.)
