Explanation
(This amendment would provide operating funds for the Western Virginia Public Education Consortium, composed of the school divisions of Alleghany, Bland, Botetourt, Clifton Forge, Craig, Covington, Floyd, Franklin, Giles, Montgomery, Pulaski, Radford, Roanoke City, Roanoke County, Salem, and Wythe. Among the duties and functions of the consortium would be: conducting ongoing needs assessments; developing plans and programs to respond to identified needs; develop linkages with technology-rich schools and school divisions in Northern Virginia; and creating the capacity for development of shared services and programs. Consortium members will also be provided with access to grant writing support and policy analysis service.)
