Page 271, after line 40, insert:
"Z.1. The Director of the Department of Medical Assistance Services shall convene a work group composed of representatives from the Department of Rehabilitative Services, the Department of Mental Health, Mental Retardation and Substance Abuse Services, the Community Services Boards, the Department of Social Services, the Centers for Independent Living, the Disability Services Boards, consumers, families, advocates and public and private providers to develop an Individual and Family Developmental Disabilities Support Waiver, which offers flexible individual and family driven control of services to meet their individualized needs.
2.  The waiver proposal may include, but not be limited to
case management, personal assistance, respite care, adult day health care, personal emergency response systems, environmental modifications, assistive technology, family and care-giver training, residential-based habilitation, day habilitation, pre-vocational services, supported employment services, behavior management and positive behavioral support, transportation, and supported living services.  In addition, the waiver proposal shall contain:  eligibility criteria for persons with developmental disabilities to be served, number of persons projected to be served, annual cost projections, types of services and supports offered, and service benefit limits.  The waiver proposal shall be developed by October 1, 1999, and presented to the Disability Commission by October 15, 1999."
3. On or before November 1, 1999, the Director of the Department of Medical Assistance Services shall prepare and submit a  request for a waiver to the Health Care Financing Administration, pursuant to federal law and regulation under Title XIX of the Social Security Act, as amended, to provide services to developmentally disabled individuals eligible for medical assistance."

(This amendment directs the Department of Medical Assistance Services to develop a Medicaid waiver for services to developmentally disabled persons.)
