"E.  Each of the appropriations provided for the Virginia Writing Project at Virginia Commonwealth University, the University of Virginia, The College of William and Mary, George Mason University, Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, Virginia State University and Old Dominion University shall be increased by $8,625 in the first year and by $8,625 in the second year from the general fund."

Explanation
(This amendment provides increased support for a statewide effort to improve the writing of all of the Commonwealth's students -- kindergarten through college. Through the program, teachers and instructors are trained during the summer at each of seven public institutions of higher education. Currently, each site receives $21,375 a year from the general fund, the same amount received over the last eight years. The amendment would bring funding at each site to $30,000 in the first and second years.)
