Explanation
(This amendment reduces the anticipated costs to adult correctional facilities from proposed executive legislation related to bail reform and Virginia Exile based on revised impact assessments produced by the Virginia Criminal Sentencing Commission. In addition, it adds the impact of other proposed legislation supported by the Governor related to money laundering, driving-under-the-influence, and gangs. Monies to support this legislation is to come from additional revenues expected to be generated through contracts for the incarceration of out-of-state prisoners.)
