"3.1)  Scholarships, internships, and graduate assistantships for students from first generation, low income, or underrepresented groups in the disciplines of the colleges of Agriculture and Life Sciences, Forestry and Wildlife Resources, Human Resources and Education, and Veterinary Medicine, Arts and Sciences, Architecture and Urban Studies, $132,500 the first year and $432,500 the second year.  Administration of the program resides in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
2) Students at Virginia State University may also participate in this program, under guidelines set forth through the College of Agriculture and Life Science."

Explanation
(This amendment expands a program which provides scholarships for undergraduate students, assistantships for graduate students, and funds to partially support an undergraduate and graduate summer research internship program focused on the recruitment and retention of highly qualified underrepresented students in the Colleges of Agriculture and Life Sciences and related sciences programs at Virginia Tech. Funding of $132,500 each year is currently provided for the program in the budget of Virginia Tech. The amendment would increase funding in the second year to $432,500.)
