Page 108, after line 6, insert:
"11.  Out of the amounts for Financial Assistance for General Education, the Board of Education shall provide $100,000 the second year from the general fund for grants to five alternative school pilots.  Of the five pilots, one each shall be for alternative programs for disruptive elementary students for the Newport News and Norfolk school divisions.  One pilot shall be for Victory Academy, an alternative school operated by the Gloucester County school division.  The remaining two pilots shall be at sites selected by the Superintendent of Public Instruction, and shall be consistent with the intent of House Bill 1248."


Explanation
(This amendment would provide funding for five alternative school pilots. A related amendment reallocates funding originally provided to the Office of the Secretary of Education for funding such alternative schools.)
