A. The Department of Criminal Justice Services shall evaluate the operation and results of the boot camps established and operated under Item 476 and of the Operation Challenge boot camp program operated by the Department of Military Affairs. The department shall present a preliminary report of its evaluation to the Governor and the Chairmen of the Senate Finance and House Appropriations Committees no later than November 1, 1997.
B. The Department of Criminal Justice Services shall evaluate the administration and efficacy of the Virginia Juvenile Community Crime Control Act (§§ 16.1-309.2 through 16.1-309.10, Code of Virginia). The department shall present a preliminary report of its evaluation to the Governor and the Chairmen of the Senate Finance and House Appropriations Committees no later than September 1, 1998.
