A. The Department of Conservation and Recreation shall submit to the Chairmen of the Senate Finance and House Appropriations Committees, by November 4, 1998, a report on the Department's implementation of the recommendations contained in the Joint Legislative Audit and Review Commission's study on the Department. This report shall (i) identify each recommendation that has been fully implemented; (ii) include a workplan and schedule for completing the recommendations not yet fully implemented; (iii) identify the recommendations that do not pertain to the Department; and (iv) discuss which recommendations the Department does not intend to implement, providing the reasons and justifications for such actions.
B. This Item includes $1,250,000 the second year from the general fund and $500,000 the second year from the Water Quality Improvement Fund to carry out the purposes of Senate Bill 1304 Chapter 900, 1999 Session. These funds shall be deposited in the Virginia Land Conservation Fund pursuant to § 10.1-1020, Code of Virginia. The funds provided to the Virginia Land Conservation Fund shall be used to improve or protect water quality and to protect environmentally sensitive lands from degradation.
