Authority: Soil Scientist Scholarships: § 23-38.3, Code of Virginia; Other Scholarships: §§ 23-114 through 23-131, Code of Virginia.


Out of the amount for Scholarships and Loans, the following sums shall be made available from the general fund for:


1. Soil Scientist Scholarships, $11,000 the first year and $11,000 the second year.


2. Other Scholarships, no more than $9,188,074 the first year and no more than $9,329,370 the second year.


3. Scholarships and graduate assistantships for students from first generation, low income, or underrepresented groups in the disciplines of the colleges of Agriculture and Life Sciences, Forestry and Wildlife Resources, Human Resources and Education, and Veterinary Medicine, $132,500 in each year. Administration of the program resides in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.


3.a) Scholarships, internships, and graduate assistantships for students from first-generation, low-income, or underrepresented groups in the disciplines of the Colleges of Agriculture and Life Sciences, Forestry and Wildlife Resources, Human Resources and Education, Veterinary Medicine, Arts and Sciences, and Architecture and Urban Studies, $132,500 the first year and $232,500 the second year from the general fund. Administration of the program shall reside in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.


b) Students at Virginia State University may also participate in this program, under guidelines set forth through the College of Agriculture and Life Science.
