(This amendment provides $3.0 million GF the first year to support the cost of cancer screenings for professional firefighters in Virginia. The Department of Fire Programs would distribute $300 per full-time, paid firefighter to requesting localities. A cancer detection ultrasound test costs approximately $300 and there are approximately 10,000 career firefighters in Virginia.)
