Explanation

(This amendment provides $20.4 million each year from the general fund and $1.1 million each year from nongeneral funds to provide additional Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits to seniors 60 years and older who were most impacted by a drastic decrease in SNAP benefits in March 2023 due to the end of the public health emergency. This funding provides additional SNAP benefits beginning July 1, 2024, by increasing the minimum SNAP benefits to $50 for individuals 60 years and older.)
