"WWWW. The Department of Medical Assistance Services shall amend the State Plan for Medical Assistance under Title XIX of the Social Security Act, to the extent permitted under federal law, to expand Emergency Medicaid to settings outside of an emergency department, provide additional emergency services, and include a provision to allow follow-up visit after an emergency. These changes shall be effective July 1, 2024."

(This amendment directs the Department of Medicaid Assistance Services to permit individuals who would otherwise be eligible for Medicaid but for their immigration status to receive services in lesser settings than emergency rooms, receive a greater range of emergency services, and be allowed necessary follow up visits after an emergency.)
