Explanation

(This amendment provides $272.5 million GF the first year and $309.4 million GF the second year to accompany Senate Bill 110, a bill that exempts food purchased for human consumption and essential personal hygiene products from the local one percent sales and use tax, beginning July 1, 2024. Senate Bill 110 proposes to provide localities with a state general fund appropriation to backfill the revenue loss, a Supplemental School Payment.)
