(This amendment provides $127,665 each year from the general fund to align the Roanoke Higher Education Center's salaries with the region’s market and to match relevant places of work. This additional funding is needed to attract and retain quality employees, meet the goals of the RHEC strategic plan, and fulfill the mission to provide educational and training opportunities to the citizens of the Roanoke region. As an authority, RHEC does not receive funding from the state for salary increases.)
