Explanation

(This amendment provides $702,152 GF the first year and $1.4 million GF the second year for critically needed support for the University's cadets to address increased program costs and to appropriately staff the program. It increases funding to address increased competition with other senior military institutions and to meet their growing needs with the aim to operate the Virginia Tech Corps of Cadets at a full capacity of 1,400 cadets. The UMA program appropriation is utilized to address costs specific to the operation of a military system, including: uniform and equipment costs, personnel and non-personnel costs related to operating the military system, and student recruitment costs.)
