"S. a. Out of this appropriation, $2,500,000 the first year and $2,500,000 the second year is provided from the general fund for the Department of Education to create a pilot program that facilitates student access to mental health services from a telehealth care provider specializing in mental health services for K-12 students in Virginia. School districts shall allow allow any student to opt in to request support to receive such service from a qualified telehealth care provider.

b. The Department of Education shall provide an annual report on the program's use and performance to the Secretary of Education and Chairs of the Senate and House Finance and Appropriations Committees and Senate and House Health Committees after the 2024-2025 school year by October 1, 2025.



Explanation

(This amendment provides $2,500,000 the first year and $2,500,00 the second year through the general fund to create a pilot program that facilitates student access to mental health services from a telehealth care provider specializing in mental health services for K-12 students in Virginia.)
