"a. Out of this appropriation, $142,743,065 the first year and $381,046,700 the second year from the general fund is provided for the state share of a 3.0 percent salary increase effective October 1, 2024 and the state share of a 3.0 salary increase effective July 1, 2025, for funded SOQ instructional and support positions. Sufficient funds are appropriated in this act to finance, on a statewide basis, the state share of up to a 3.0 percent salary increase effective October 1, 2024 and July 1, 2025, to school divisions that certify to the Department of Education that an equivalent increase will be provided to instructional and support personnel the second year. The state share of funding provided to a school division in support of this compensation supplement shall be prorated for school divisions that provide less than an average 3.0 percent salary increase the first and second year; however, to access these funds, a school division must provide at least an average 1.5 percent salary increase the first year and a 1.5 percent salary increase the second year."



Explanation

(This amendment provides $142.7 million GF the first year and $259.2 million GF the second year for a 3% salary increase each year for teachers and instructional positions.)
