Explanation

(This amendment adds $15.7 million each year from the general fund to increase the Auxiliary Grant Rate for assisted living facilities from $2,079 per month to $2,500 per month and to increase the personal needs allowance to $115 per month from $87 per month. The state provides 80 percent of funding for the auxiliary grant program while the localities provide 20 percent. The recipient may use their personal needs allowance to cover medical supplies, medical co-pays, laundry services offered by their providers, and other expenses.)
