"3. Effective July 1, 2024, The Department of Medical Assistance Services shall increase the rates for dental services by 10 percent. The department shall have the authority to implement these changes prior to completion of any regulatory process undertaken in order to effect such change."

Explanation

(This amendment provides $731,926 from the general fund and $1.3 million from nongeneral funds each year to increase Medicaid Children's Health Insurance Program (M-CHIP) reimbursed dental services by 10 percent. Rates for dental services were increased by 30 percent in FY 2023. Language provides the agency with emergency regulatory authority to implement this change. Companion amendments in Item 288 and Item 287 provide for a 10 percent increase in dental rates in the Medicaid program and the FAMIS program.)
